Panel Chairs: Fernanda Castro and Cherolyn Knapp

Mediation and Arbitration are at their core, person-focused work.  Bringing together parties facing significant challenges can bring us face-to-face with individuals and groups under pressure who are feeling the full weight of conflict in need of resolution.  Invariably, issues of stress, anxiety, depression, addiction and potentially more severe and persistent mental illness will arise in our work as ADR professionals.

Using scenarios drawn from real life examples, our panel of experts will engage in an engaging discussion about responding to and supporting those with mental illness within ADR processes.  ADR professionals will gain increased insight and understanding and explore practical strategies at this thought-provoking session.
