As a resident of the MÁLEXEȽ (Malahat) and Quw’utsun lands, I strive to steward the environment and community around me. I live in beautiful Cobble Hill, BC, with my wife and two children. I moved to Vancouver Island after joining the Royal Canadian Navy in 2006.
After spending 15 years serving in the Navy, conducting four international operations in the Gulf of Aden, South America, and the South China Sea. I earned the rank of Petty Officer Second Class and was awarded a Commander of Joint Operations Commendation for my initiative and leadership as the Electronic Warfare Supervisor.
Inner personal conflict became a driving force in my desire to seek employment change. I started this change with formal education, completing my Bachelor of Arts in Justice. I have been admitted to begin my Master of Arts in Conflict Analysis and Management degree in 2024 from Royal Roads University. During my BA, the study of alternative dispute resolution resonated with me. With an upcoming retirement in 2024 from the Canadian Armed Forces, I am exploring employment opportunities in alternative dispute resolution and utilizing conflict as a learning opportunity and a tool to continue to move forward.
Becoming an Alternative Dispute Resolution BC and Canada member, I have completed my National Introduction to Mediation and Introduction to Arbitration.
