Kenneth Markley has worked in the social services field for approximately thirty-five years as a Youth Worker, Child Protection Social Worker, Family Group Conference Facilitator, Mediator, Conflict Coach and trainer. He holds a Master’s degree in Adult Learning and a Certificate in Family Mediation from the Justice Institute of British Columbia.

Ken has served as a mediator on the Child Protection Roster for Mediate BC for the past eleven years. He is certified as a Comprehensive Family Mediator with Family Mediation Canada. Ken is also a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst. He has served for the past ten years as a conflict coach on faculty with the Justice Institute of BC.

Ken has presented at international Social Work conferences on the subject of Alternate Dispute Resolution best practice. Over his career as a social services practitioner and trainer, Ken has had the opportunity to work intensely in a variety of cultural contexts, including Vietnamese, South Asian, Chinese, and Urban Indigenous milieus. He has also travelled extensively throughout British Columbia and worked with over fifteen First Nations.

Ken is currently an active member of the community of practice devoted to the dispute resolution methodology known as the ‘Insight Approach’.
