My focus in mediation is to draw on creative techniques to open new sense-making pathways for both practitioners and participants seeking social justice. I facilitate the exchange of information beyond spoken and written word into embodied ways of knowing to achieve relational transformation. Alternative dispute resolution means to question current practice and to seek new methods to resolve wicked problems. I have facilitated strategic and operational planning for government, industry and NGOs, negotiated governance re-structuring, and facilitated large-scale multi-sector planning initiatives that have led to consensus agreements, sustainable plans, and relevant policies.
For me, mediation is about relationship, whether I am working with a large and diverse group or two individuals, I support all parties from a place of equanimity. As a mediator, my work has brought me into the middle of wicked problems, requiring me to be comfortable with the wrath of those who are convinced that theirs is the only right way. My role is to hold the space and offer questions out of genuine regard for all interests represented. In addition to mediation, I offer strategic foresight techniques and regenerative design skills to support collaborative effort towards mutual understanding.
