Daphne’s passion for Restorative Justice began when she was working within an alternative school supporting learners with extra needs. She took the Restorative Justice Training with CowichanRestorative Justice to learn more about restorative and trauma informed conflict management skills and bring that back to her school and the students she supported. After taking the training Daphne began volunteering with Cowichan Restorative Justice as well as co-facilitating the Restorative Justice School pilot project in School District #79.
Daphne’s is deeply committed to community and has witnessed the transformative power that being in community can have and how community justice forums, circle processes and restorative approaches to conflict are healing for all involved. Outside of her Restorative Justice work, she is with the Cowichan Bay Maritime Centre where she works to cultivate community involvement through events and workshops in conjunction with community groups, organizations, the business community and other non-profits.
