Jessie has a Master of Arts in Conflict Analysis and Management from Royal Road University and over 20 years of experience working in Indigenous communities and organizations in a variety of roles including senior management and C-suite roles.
Jessie is of First Nations and European descent. A member of the shishalh Nation, she has a passion for unpacking conflict issues faced by Indigenous people in their personal lives, familial and community relationships and organizations. Specific conflict areas she explored included shishalh’s legislated self-governance and more broadly, the level of recognition and address of sexual violence experienced by Indigenous women and girls in their communities.
Jessie currently works for the Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council as the Strategic Initiatives & Governance Lead supporting the tripartite Task Force on wildfire recovery and rail safety.
