I am a professional Educator with 18 years of leadership experience as a school administrator changing school cultures. I have been recognized for my work in transformational change in school culture, locally, regionally, and nationally, receiving the award for Canada’s Most Outstanding Principal in 2017.
I identify as a white, European-heritage settler of six generations on these lands. I speak to and about confronting racism and working to break down systemic racism in public education and in other organizations. I speak about challenges from my own learning and evolving awareness as a conspirator perpetuating Racism in the Education system, and what my changes in thinking and actions have been and continue to be as I work daily to decolonize and confront systemic racism in the public education system.
