Mark works exclusively as mediator, arbitrator, and adjudicator. He was called to the BC Bar in 1982. He practiced as a trial lawyer for many years, and is now a non-practicing member of the Law Society of British Columbia.
Mark has mediated well in excess of fifteen hundred civil claims involving commercial disputes, family businesses, personal injury, aviation, professional liability, construction, insurance (property, casualty, life and disability), shareholders’ and joint venture partners’ disputes, real estate, employment, and wills and estates. He has particular expertise mediating disputes where there is high emotional content. He received his Chartered Mediator designation in 2017.
Mark’s arbitration experience includes under insured motorist claims, and construction, commercial, and insurance disputes. He also has substantial experience sitting as a court appointed adjudicator in class action matters. He received his Chartered Arbitrator designation in 2020.
Mark has been a volunteer with the BC Lawyers Assistance Program (“LAP”), since 2002. He has assisted in interventions, acted as counsel to lawyers in discipline, credentials, and practice standards matters before the Law Society of British Columbia, and acted as a peer counselor to other lawyers. He is a current board member and officer of LAP.
