After working for more than a decade in different capacities with youth counselling and forensic mental health, Kaylie was first exposed to Restorative Justice acting as a community support to a youth in the circle process. Watching the process unfold, she found the experience deeply moving and was inspired by the possibilities for connection, healing and transformation.
Not long after, she became involved with the Alternatives to Violence Project and met a number of the grassroots organizers that created the local roots of the current Restorative community in BC. These connections led to a complete paradigm shift and diverted her career path. Currently, Kaylie focuses her time and energy working to support the growth of a number of Restorative Justice based organizations. She currently coordinates the Restorative Justice Program for the City of Burnaby, Acts as Board co-Chair to Community Justice Initiatives in Langley, and does complex case work and consultation with a number of Restorative Justice organizations around the Province.
Outside of work, her passion lies in searching out new adventures with her partner and son, and exploring the wilds of North Vancouver.
